About this place

This route leads up the valley to a tussock basin enclosed by steep granite cliffs.

The route

This well marked track climbs gently through the forest taking you to a tussock basin enclosed by steep granite cliffs. There is the option to link this track with the Klondyke Spur track as a round trip by continuing on and climbing up to the upper basin with alpine tarns. Follow the ridgeline towards the marked Klondyke Spur Track, picking it up at the bushline. Do not attempt to take a low sidle as this will lead you to dangerous bluffs.
