Work exchange cabin at Kalikapai

Hosted by Kalikapai

Work exchange / WWOOFingLong stays welcome

About this space

We have a lovely little cabin with full facilities for a work exchange stay, on a WWOOF or Workaway basis. Kalikapai sits at the top of the hill above Sandy Bay on the Tutukaka Coast, looking out over the sea. We live as a community, inspired by Findhorn and the Kalikalos network in Greece. The land is here all year round, and there are usually a few families or singles living on site in tiny houses, vans and cabins. We are especially interested in people who would like to get involved in workshops and support the retreat centre: preparing for workshops and guests, daily tasks around the place, and landscaping. Our workshops bring together art, dance, writing and yoga. Drinking water, toilets, hot showers, a kitchen, compost and greywater are all here. Power is for charging phones and laptops. There is no wifi. Tell us about yourself, what you could help with, and roughly when and for how long you would like to come.

Things to know

Talk to us about hours, meals and how long you would like to stay. Please do not just turn up. This is private land and we have close neighbours. Send a request and we will send you arrival details. No wifi. Power is for charging phones and laptops. Please take your own rubbish away. We give you bins, and they go to the council pick up point. Compost toilet waste is fine. There is no chemical toilet disposal. Kids are welcome. The nearest shop is 10 minutes away, and some of the best beaches in New Zealand are close by.
