Vegan Night Mākete, October
Saturday 31 October 2026, 5pm to 8pm. Gatherings talk at 6pm.
Free entry.
Our October Vegan Night Mākete, on Saturday 31 October, kicks off World Vegan Month. Free entry.
Christchurch's monthly Vegan Night Mākete is a welcoming community event that has been running since 2019. It features local food trucks, plant-based meals and a range of vegan products. You will also find vegan essentials like our VEG 1 multivitamin and our famous vegan sausage in bread, plus other merch, at our own Christchurch Vegan Society stall.
Gatherings, free at 6pm
"Gatherings" is a free talk series held at every Mākete at 6pm. All are welcome. Topics cover an aspect of veganism: past talks have included vegan entrepreneurship, nutrition, vegan travel, animal rights campaigns, the environment and art. Sometimes it is a film or a cookery demonstration instead. Bring your Mākete goodies in to eat while you listen. The topic for each Mākete goes up on our Facebook page.
Meet people
If you are coming on your own or want to meet new people, look out for our hosted Meet and Eat table. You are also warmly welcome to join our volunteer team who put the event on each month. Just ask at our stall, or email info@veganchristchurch.org.nz.
Want a stall?
All food and products at the Mākete must be 100% vegan: no eggs, dairy, gelatine or carminic acid. You do not have to run a vegan business. If you are unsure about an ingredient, ask us. Stallholder registration
