Community Sauna 22nd Sept
🔥 Community Sauna
We’re opening our sauna to the community.
A space to warm up, slow down, connect, and unwind.
Come have a yarn, sit quietly, meet some new people, sweat, cold plunge, shower and enjoy being human together.
🌿 Koha
There’s no set price.
This gathering is offered in the spirit of koha: a gift freely given.
For us, koha is about sharing from abundance rather than turning everything into a transaction.
Maybe your fruit trees are overflowing. Maybe you’ve got too many veggies in the garden. Maybe you’ve made something, grown something, have a little firewood, some useful resources, time, energy, knowledge, or simply feel called to contribute something.
Bring what feels natural.
There’s no expectation that everyone gives the same thing, or anything of a particular value.
We want to grow a culture where what we have in abundance can move between us, and where giving and receiving become a natural part of community.
🧖 A Few Practical Things
Clothing is optional in and around the sauna.
Wear whatever feels right for you.
If being around nudity is an edge for you, you’re welcome to meet that edge gently, while keeping your own boundaries and respecting everyone else’s.
Please bring
- 🧺 A towel to sit on in the sauna
- 🚿 Another towel if you’d like to shower or cold plunge afterwards
- 💧 Water to stay hydrated
- 🌱 Anything you feel inspired to offer as koha
🌿 The Space We’re Growing
We’re slowly shaping this place into a community hub of sorts, but we’re not trying to decide exactly what it needs to become beforehand.
It’s taking shape through the people who resonate with it and naturally find their way here. A place to gather, work, create, offer something, share skills, rest, learn, grow food, make things, or simply spend time together.
We’re also exploring what koha and reciprocity can look like as part of the natural rhythm of the space.
Keeping a place like this alive takes many forms of energy. Sometimes that’s money to help with power, internet and running costs. Sometimes it’s time, tools, seedlings, materials, skills, labour, ideas, or showing up and lending a hand.
We’re finding the rhythm as we go, allowing people to contribute from what they genuinely have/love to give, while collectively supporting the space to keep functioning and evolving.
