Alive and Awake. A Deep Ecology Day in Motueka with Inna Alex: a day of connection, reflection and exploring our place in the web of Life.

There's a lot going on in the world these days. From changes close to home to events unfolding across the globe, there's plenty to think and feel about. Alongside the challenges, there is also much to appreciate, enjoy and care for.

How do we experience these changing times? How do we make sense of it all? What matters to us? And what does it mean to be human, connected to each other and to the world we are part of?

This one-day gathering offers an opportunity to step out of everyday routines, slow down and connect with ourselves, each other and the natural world. Through a mix of experiential activities, conversation and quiet reflection, we'll explore what it means to live consciously in relationship with the world around us.

Drawing on Joanna Macy's Work That Reconnects, this day welcomes people of all backgrounds and experiences. No prior knowledge is needed, and there are no particular answers or outcomes to arrive at.

Reawaken to your interconnectedness with Life. Empower your work for the Earth.

Your facilitator

Inna Alex is a passionate community organiser, environmental educator, deep ecology facilitator and yoga teacher. She has been teaching Deep Ecology workshops around NZ for the past 15 years, having studied both with Joanna Macy and John Seed. "For me, Joanna's Work That Reconnects is the bridge between our spiritual journeys and how we live in the world. I'm amazed how powerful this work is in enabling us to experience ourselves as part of the Living Whole and engage in its healing in our own unique ways."

"As a scientist stepping into a deep ecology workshop I felt well prepared for the intellectual side of the experience. I was really impressed with and thoroughly enjoyed how deeply the emotional and connecting side of the workshop played out." Charlotte, Hawke's Bay (ecologist)
